We are looking for a SAP MM/SD Functional Consultant to join our Technology Advisory Services team. You will act as a trusted advisor to procurement, logistics, supply chain and sales stakeholders, translating business needs into effective SAP S/4HANA solutions and driving digital transformation for our clients.

What will you actually do?
You will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing and supporting SAP S/4HANA solutions across Materials Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution (SD), enabling efficient Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes. You will act as the bridge between business teams (procurement, supply chain, sales, finance) and technical specialists, ensuring that SAP solutions are aligned with business objectives and SAP best practices.
Core responsibilities
- Lead functional MM/SD workstreams: Own key parts of end-to-end delivery for SAP S/4HANA MM and SD – from requirements analysis and process design through configuration, testing, deployment and post–go-live support.
- Business analysis & fit-gap workshops: Work closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements, facilitate fit-gap workshops, document as-is / to-be processes for P2P and O2C and translate them into SAP functional designs.
- Solution design & configuration (MM): Configure and customize SAP MM to support procurement and inventory processes, including purchasing, purchase requisitions/orders, goods receipts, inventory management, material master data, pricing and invoice verification.
- Solution design & configuration (SD): Configure and customize SAP SD to support sales and distribution processes, including sales order management, quotations, contracts, pricing, delivery, shipping, billing and customer master data.
- End-to-end P2P & O2C support: Ensure robust and integrated Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes across SAP MM and SD, supporting business requirements and driving process improvements.
- Functional specifications & collaboration with technical teams: Prepare clear functional specifications and collaborate with ABAP developers, integration specialists and basis teams on developments, interfaces and enhancements.
- Change Requests management: Analyze, design and implement Change Requests, ensuring proper impact assessment, testing, documentation and stakeholder approval.
- Testing & UAT support: Define and execute test cases, support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), upgrades, releases and regression testing; troubleshoot functional issues and validate that solutions meet business needs.
- SAP best practices advisory: Provide guidance on SAP standard functionalities and best practices, recommending improvements and simplifications where appropriate.
- Cutover & go-live activities: Support data migration and cutover planning from a functional perspective, participate in go-live activities and contribute to stabilization in the immediate post–go-live phase.

Experience & background
- 3–6 years of experience as a SAP Functional Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP MM and/or SAP SD.
- Proven experience in SAP configuration and customization of MM and SD modules.
- Participation in at least one end-to-end SAP implementation, rollout, migration or transformation project.
Functional expertise
- Strong understanding of procurement, purchasing, inventory management and material master processes.
- Strong understanding of sales order management, pricing, delivery, billing and customer master processes.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional solutions and configuration.
- Knowledge of key integration points between MM/SD and other SAP modules such as FI, PP, WM/EWM, TM or Ariba.
Tools & methods
- Solid experience with SAP S/4HANA configuration and enhancement in MM and SD.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori and SAP S/4HANA Cloud environments.
- Experience with testing, defect management, UAT and go-live support in project and release cycles.
- Experience working in agile and project-based environments is considered an advantage.
Education & skills
- University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- SAP MM and/or SAP SD certifications are considered a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and engage effectively with both business and technical teams.
- Self-driven, proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Communication & language
- Fluent in Romanian and English, both written and spoken.
- Able to explain SAP concepts in clear, non-technical language to business users.
