We are seeking an experienced Associate Manager to join our EU Funds Investment team. The role involves end-to-end involvement in the preparation, management, and implementation of projects financed through national and European funding programmes. You will work closely with beneficiaries, partners, and public authorities, contributing to complex projects with strategic and financial impact.

This role requires strong autonomy, advanced analytical and writing capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic consulting environment.


Funding application development: Lead and coordinate the drafting of complex funding applications for national and European programmes; structure technical and financial documentation to ensure eligibility, coherence, and competitiveness.

What will you actually do?

  • Project implementation & management: Manage implementation activities across the full project lifecycle, including planning, monitoring, reporting, and risk management; ensure compliance with contractual obligations, programme rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Client & stakeholder management: Act as a primary contact for beneficiaries and project partners; maintain effective working relationships with managing authorities, intermediate bodies, and audit structures; communicate clearly and credibly with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analysis, insight & judgment: Perform in-depth analysis of programme guidelines, eligibility rules, budgets, and indicators; identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities, and formulate clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Delivery excellence & ways of working: Plan and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines and quality standards; leverage digital tools and AI-assisted solutions to increase efficiency in research, data analysis, drafting, and reporting; contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building within the team.


What are we looking for?

Mandatory requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in non-reimbursable / EU-funded projects.
  • Proven end-to-end experience in funding application drafting and project management & implementation (including reporting, monitoring indicators, and liaison with financing authorities).
  • Strong knowledge of national and/or European funding programmes (e.g. POCIDIF/ POC, PR/POR, PNRR, Modernization Fund, PT/ POIM, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical, structuring, and drafting capabilities for complex documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of autonomy, effective time management, and ability to prioritize across multiple assignments.


Nice to have

  • Experience with European Commission–managed programmes (Horizon / Horizon Europe, CEF, or similar).
  • Participation in or coordination of international consortia.
  • Involvement in projects related to R&D, innovation, infrastructure, or digital transformation.
  • Experience managing large-scale, complex project budgets.
  • Knowledge of public procurement rules applicable to EU-funded projects.

Education

  • University degree, preferably in a technical or economic field.
  • Postgraduate studies or professional certifications in EU funds / European projects are an advantage.
