We are looking for a CEE Technology Cost Controller to join our Operations – Strategy and Operations team. You will coordinate financial processes related to technology services across the CEE region, ensure transparency of technology costs, support planning and governance, and drive initiatives that improve cost efficiency, standardization and procurement synergies.

What will you actually do?

You will be responsible for coordinating and controlling technology-related financial processes across the CEE region. You will ensure that technology costs are accurately planned, allocated, billed and reported, enabling transparent decision-making and driving cost efficiency and procurement synergies. You will work closely with Finance, Technology, Procurement and business stakeholders across multiple CEE member firms.

Core responsibilities

Technology Cost Allocation & Service Charging

  • Manage intercompany technology cost allocations, service charges and recharge calculations across CEE member firms.
  • Develop and maintain allocation methodologies and charging models for shared and centralized technology services.
  • Calculate annual true-up/true-down settlements for regional technology services and initiatives.
  • Prepare settlement proposals and charging structures for new technology services, projects and regional initiatives.

Financial Planning & Performance Management

  • Coordinate annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for technology costs at regional level.
  • Consolidate CEE technology budgets and maintain planning assumptions, drivers and allocation keys.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and trends.
  • Prepare variance analyses, management reports and dashboards for regional leadership.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support technology investments, operating model changes and regional optimization initiatives.

Financial Close & Accounting Support

  • Prepare accruals for technology costs, service charges and related financial adjustments.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities in coordination with local Finance teams.
  • Estimate accruals where final values are not yet available, based on contractual terms and usage data.

Billing & Intercompany Settlements

  • Prepare billing requests and invoicing instructions for intercompany technology charges.
  • Validate charges prior to invoicing to ensure correctness, consistency and alignment with agreed methodologies.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for invoices and intercompany transactions (calculations, schedules, contracts).
  • Resolve billing and settlement queries from Finance, Technology and business stakeholders across the region.

Technology Cost Governance & Reporting

  • Consolidate technology cost data from member firms, ensure data quality and manage exceptions.
  • Define and implement technology cost KPIs, performance metrics and dashboards for regional leadership.
  • Support reporting automation, data standardization and process optimization initiatives.
  • Perform scenario modelling to assess cost distribution, integrated operating models and regional synergies.

Central Technology Procurement

  • Support the establishment and development of centralized technology procurement services across CEE.
  • Analyse regional technology expenditure to identify consolidation, standardization and volume-leveraging opportunities.
  • Gather and evaluate technology procurement requirements from member firms to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Develop reporting that tracks procurement performance, savings, contract coverage and strategic initiatives.

Vendor Management

  • Coordinate regional vendor management activities for strategic technology suppliers (e.g. software, cloud, infrastructure).
  • Support contract negotiations, renewals and RFP processes for CEE-wide technology agreements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the vendor portfolio, rationalize overlapping solutions and maximize commercial value.
  • Work with Technology, Procurement and Legal to ensure contracts reflect regional needs, risk considerations and cost-efficiency objectives.

Experience & background

  • Finance background gained in Audit, Advisory, Controlling, FP&A or a similar professional services or corporate environment.
  • Experience with:
    • Cost controlling, budgeting and forecasting for technology or shared services.
    • Intercompany charging, allocations or transfer pricing in a multi-entity / multi-country context.
    • Preparing variance analyses, management reports and business cases for investments or organizational changes.
  • Exposure to cross-border or regional structures (CEE or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Experience working closely with Technology/IT and Procurement teams is an advantage.

Tools & methods

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for modelling, allocations, scenario analyses and reconciliations.
  • Experience with ERP and finance systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics or similar) and intercompany processes.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (IFRS/local GAAP) relevant to technology costs, accruals and intercompany charges.

Communication & language

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; additional CEE languages are a plus.
  • Able to explain complex cost allocation and charging concepts in clear, non-technical language to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Comfortable preparing and presenting reports and recommendations to regional leadership.

Nice to have

  • ACCA qualification (completed or in progress) is an advantage, but not required.
  • Experience with regional or global technology procurement initiatives.
  • Background in AI, digital transformation projects or emerging technology topics from a finance/operations perspective.
  • Prior experience in a Big Four or similar professional services environment.
